Struck Is Now Available on Amazon

I’m excited to officially announce that Struck is now available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

This story gave me the opportunity to really lean into psychological horror, distorted perception, supernatural influence, and the fear of losing trust in reality itself. At its core, Struck is about paranoia, uncertainty, and the terrifying realization that the mind can become its own prison.

Marshall James Thornhill’s descent throughout the story was one of the most psychologically intense narratives I’ve worked on, and I wanted readers constantly questioning what was real and what was manipulation.

To everyone who continues supporting my writing and creative projects, thank you sincerely. Your support means more than you know.

If you read Struck, please consider leaving a review or rating on Amazon. Reviews genuinely help independent authors reach new readers and continue creating future stories.

Writing Announcement: Struck

I’m excited to officially announce my upcoming dark fiction story, Struck.

The story follows Marshall James Thornhill, an officer pulled into a case that slowly begins dismantling his understanding of reality itself. As the investigation deepens, Thornhill realizes something may have attached itself to him—something invasive, manipulative, and impossible to fully comprehend.

With Struck, I wanted to lean heavily into psychological deterioration, supernatural influence, and the fear of questioning your own perception. Some horror comes from monsters. Some comes from realizing your own mind may no longer be trustworthy.

This is one of the most psychologically driven stories I’ve worked on so far, and I’m excited to share more about it soon.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support my writing and creative projects.

Narik Chase – Memorial Day 2026

Memorial Day is a time for remembrance.

It is a day to reflect on sacrifice, service, and the individuals who gave their lives in military duty. These are not abstract ideas—they are real people, real families, and real stories that ended far too soon.

As a writer, stories are often about conflict, survival, and consequence. But Memorial Day is a reminder that some stories in real life do not get a resolution—they are remembered instead of concluded.

Today, we honor those who served and those who never returned home. Their sacrifice remains part of the foundation of the world we live in.

Thank you as well to everyone who continues to support my writing and creative work.

Have a safe and thoughtful Memorial Day.

The Hole Is Now Available on Amazon

I’m excited to officially announce that The Hole is now available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

This story was heavily inspired by isolation, cosmic mystery, psychological tension, and the fear of discovering something impossible to explain. At its core, The Hole is about curiosity turning into obsession and the terrifying realization that some things are far older and stranger than we are prepared to confront.

Writing this story gave me the chance to lean heavily into atmosphere, suspense, and uncertainty while exploring how fear slowly reshapes perception and trust.

To everyone who continues supporting my writing and creative work, thank you sincerely. Your support truly means a great deal.

Writing Announcement: The Hole Releases May 24

I’m excited to officially announce my upcoming short story, The Hole, releasing May 24.

The story follows Faye Harper and her family during what was supposed to be a peaceful camping trip. But after discovering a massive and seemingly endless hole deep in the wilderness, the family begins experiencing strange distortions in reality, growing paranoia, and the terrifying feeling that something beneath them is aware of their presence.

With The Hole, I wanted to focus heavily on atmosphere, psychological tension, and the fear of encountering something impossible to fully explain. Some horrors are terrifying because of what they are. Others are terrifying because we never truly understand them.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support my writing and creative projects. I’m excited to finally share this story with readers on May 24.

Harvest Is Now Available on Amazon

I’m excited to officially announce that Harvest is now available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

This story was an opportunity for me to dive deeper into psychological tension, paranoia, and unreliable perception through the perspective of Amber Moss—a woman whose growing fixation on Winona Jenkins slowly begins consuming every aspect of her reality.

At its core, Harvest is a story about obsession, fear, envy, and uncertainty. I wanted readers constantly questioning what is real, what is imagined, and whether Amber’s suspicions are justified or self-destructive.

To everyone who has supported my writing and creative projects, thank you sincerely. Your support means more than you probably realize.

If you read Harvest, please consider leaving a review or comment on Amazon. Reviews genuinely help independent authors continue growing and reaching new readers.

Writing Announcement: Harvest Releases May 17

I’m excited to officially announce the release of my upcoming short story, Harvest, arriving May 17.

The story follows Amber Moss as her growing fixation on the mysterious and admired Winona Jenkins begins to consume her life. The deeper Amber investigates, the more uncertain reality itself becomes, forcing her to confront a terrifying question: is Winona truly manipulating the town—or is Amber losing herself to obsession?

With Harvest, I wanted to explore paranoia, isolation, envy, and psychological deterioration through a dark and unsettling lens.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support my writing and creative projects. I’m excited to finally share this story with readers.

The Writers Who Inspired Me to Become an Author

Every writer starts somewhere. Sometimes inspiration comes from a single story, a memorable character, or a world that refuses to leave your imagination. For me, several authors helped shape not only my love of storytelling, but also the way I approach writing itself. While my style continues to evolve, there are four writers whose work had a major influence on my development as both a reader and an author: R. L. Stine, H. G. Wells, Robert Jordan, and Stephen King.

R. L. Stine was one of the earliest authors who truly inspired me to write. His novellas and horror stories showed me that storytelling did not have to be overly complicated to be effective. Stine understood pacing, suspense, cliffhangers, and accessibility in a way that made reading feel exciting and approachable. His work helped me realize that shorter fiction could still create tension, atmosphere, and memorable experiences. That influence still carries into the way I approach horror and suspense-driven storytelling today.

H. G. Wells expanded my understanding of what storytelling could become across genres. His ability to combine science fiction, horror, social commentary, and philosophical ideas opened my eyes to the flexibility of fiction itself. Wells did not simply tell stories about strange concepts; he used those concepts to explore humanity, fear, class, morality, and survival. Reading his work helped me think beyond single-genre storytelling and encouraged me to experiment with blending different tones and themes together.

When it came to worldbuilding and character morality, Robert Jordan had a tremendous impact on me. Through The Wheel of Time, Jordan created a world that felt layered, lived in, and constantly evolving. More importantly, his characters rarely felt entirely good or entirely evil. Motivations clashed, perspectives differed, and morality often existed in shades of gray. That approach helped me appreciate the importance of complexity within storytelling. Characters become far more engaging when they feel human, flawed, conflicted, and shaped by the worlds around them.

Finally, Stephen King helped me better understand the importance of character work, motivations, and dialogue. One of King’s greatest strengths is his ability to make characters feel believable even before the horror fully arrives. His stories often succeed because readers become invested in the people first. Through his work, I learned that strong dialogue and believable motivations can make even the strangest concepts feel grounded and emotionally effective.

Every writer absorbs inspiration differently, and these four authors each helped shape a different aspect of how I view storytelling. Whether through suspense, worldbuilding, genre experimentation, or character development, their influence continues to inspire me every time I sit down to write.

Narik Chase – Mother’s Day 2026

 Happy Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is a reminder of the people who often form the emotional foundation of our lives. Mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures play a role that is both deeply personal and universally understood—providing care, guidance, discipline, and support through every stage of life.

In storytelling, maternal figures often represent strength, protection, sacrifice, and emotional grounding. Whether in fiction or real life, their presence often shapes the direction of a character’s journey in powerful ways.

Today is a moment to acknowledge and appreciate that influence.

To all mothers and maternal figures: thank you for your love, patience, and strength.

And thank you to everyone who continues to support my writing and creative work.

Have a safe and Happy Mother’s Day.

Narik Chase – Star Wars Day 2026

 Happy Star Wars Day.

Few modern franchises have influenced storytelling as much as Star Wars. It helped define what a cinematic universe could be, blending mythology, science fiction, and character-driven storytelling into something that resonates across generations.

At its core, it’s a story about choices—between light and darkness, loyalty and betrayal, hope and fear. Those themes are universal, and they show up again and again in all forms of fiction.

As a writer, it’s hard not to recognize how deeply Star Wars has shaped modern storytelling structure, pacing, and worldbuilding across books, film, and games.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my writing and creative work.

Have a great Star Wars Day—and may the 4th be with you.

Narik Chase – Free Comic Book Day 2026

 Happy Free Comic Book Day.

Comics and graphic storytelling have always held a special place in modern fiction. They are a unique blend of writing, pacing, and visual design that can deliver emotion, tension, and worldbuilding in a way few other formats can match.

For many writers and readers, comics are not just entertainment—they are inspiration. They influence tone, structure, dialogue, and even how entire fictional universes are built. The impact of that medium can be seen across film, literature, and games alike.

As someone who works across different forms of storytelling, I’ve always appreciated how comics can balance simplicity and depth at the same time.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my writing and creative work.

Have a great Free Comic Book Day.
