This story gave me the opportunity to really lean into psychological horror, distorted perception, supernatural influence, and the fear of losing trust in reality itself. At its core, Struck is about paranoia, uncertainty, and the terrifying realization that the mind can become its own prison.
Marshall James Thornhill’s descent throughout the story was one of the most psychologically intense narratives I’ve worked on, and I wanted readers constantly questioning what was real and what was manipulation.
